So, I had my buddy down the road reach out to a descendant of the maker of the guitar and do the math on the specs for stringing this beautiful creation. We'll be posting a video link as time allows that describes the journey of what this process has become. So make an offer before it gets way more expensive from me having to pay a cinematographer!

Feel free to stop by the shop I dropped it off at for restoration and give it a try! Prototype 1917 Sears Roebuck Harmony made Supertone Double Neck Acoustic Harp Guitar. Supertone Harp Guitar Chicago Double Neck Acoustic 6 & 12 String. One of THE, if not THE Finest example known to exist!

IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT IT MAY NEVER HAVE BEEN PLAYED!! What we know: probably built by Harmony Guitar, most probably birch wood. Some of these were painted with a faux finish to look like rosewood. This one does not appear to be one of those. Built from 1916 to about 1930 so we could be anywhere in that span.

Let's play it safe and say that its about 90 years old! I've attached an ad from Silvertone World in 1916. I will continue to update this listing as more details come to light!

I have NEVER seen one offered anywhere! I'll deliver this in person within 500 miles to a safe location. The workmanship and condition of this guitar are both exquisite!

I've got the guitar currently parked at Rocktown in Waite Park, MN. Where the owner Joel, whose background is in restoration, has been going over it piece by piece to make sure it's original, and he's been in contact with some of the descendants of who he believes to be the original makers of it, and, as the process continues, we have been going over all available historical info on the guitar, and similar time-period pieces - and, long story short, it appears that the reason it is the way it is - is that it was one of two prototypes that were solicited to find out whether or not distributors would be interested in it at that particular price-point. So, one of two prototypes, with an atypical composition. Always happy to get feedback from folks and thanks for emailing. If I find out anything new though, in the discovery process for the build, I'm happy to add you to the list of folks who want to find out how this plays out.
