The Martin 0001X is a 000 shaped acoustic guitar which, unlike the modern X series guitars, was made in the USA. The back and sides are also made out of laminated mahogany unlike the modern ones which are made using HPL. The combination of Mahogany and Spruce is a classic one and makes for a warm, smooth sound which keeps an articulate sound which doesnt lose any high end thanks to the Spruce.

The 000 body shape is a very popular one amongst all players whether playing fingerstyle or strumming. They are a comfortable feeling guitar since the body is smaller than that of a dreadnought, however projection is not compromised due to the slightly wider bouts in comparison. The Birch neck is a really comfortable profile and the fact it is laminated makes it both very stable and really cool looking.
