Vintage 1960s Guild Mark 1 Classical Acoustic Guitar Made Hoboken NJ. Up for sale we have a Guild Mark 1. The serial is 24117, which dates it to 1963. This particular example has very nice low playable action is exceptional clean.

The guitar is in very good shape for its age. The color is a beautiful honey brown. It plays great and the tone is very bright!

The guitar also has minor superficial dings, scratches, wear and tear around various parts of the guitar. Typical of a guitar of this age. Some addtional information from a helpful EBAYer Guild enthusiast. These are finished in the "classic" nitrocellulose lacquer, often tinted red, it's easily stripped with lacquer thinner & a soft cotton cloth.

The old mahogany refinishes BEAUTIFULLY w/ light sanding & several coats of WATCO brushing lacquer, then many meticulous hand- polishings w/ micromesh & final buffs with Renaissance wax. I think the ugly plastic pick guard is aftermarket, Seen same on a classical 60's Goya & another Guild MK1. Wood may be lighter under it, sanding corrects that. Mk1 was Guild's entry level classical, the only classical they made wi/ mahogany face & full mahogany body.
