Up for sale, a circa 1964 Silvertone Tenor Folk Guitar in perfect working order. This uncommon tenor guitar was produced by Kay in the USA for Sears' house brand "Silvertone" to capitalize on the folk boom of the'60s. According to the 1964 Sears Roebuck catalog, it's [a]s easy to play as a ukulele but you get a rich, full guitar tone for westerns, folk songs, hootenanny fun. Tonewoods include a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. This tenor is punchy and bright with a 23 scale length, offering a plucky, percussive quality that's also smooth and warm.

Neck Specs: -Wood: Mahogany -Shape: Deep V, measuring. 945" 1st fret, 1.090" 7th fret -Fretboard: Rosewood, dot inlay -Frets: Slender, brass, no wear -Scale Length: 24" -Nut: 1 1/8", bone -Tuners: Open gear, white button Body Specs: -Wood: Spruce, mahogany -Bridge: Rosewood, through saddle -Plastics: Tortoise pickguard -Serialization: Stamp at soundhole -Marquetry: Tortoise binding (top, back and rosette) There are a few small, professionally repaired splits on top at the treble-side lower bout edge and one on the mahogany rim adjacent to the neck heel. The center seam on top has also been reglued. This guitar exhibits limited buckle worming central to the back, pick scuffing on top, and some minor dings and finish scratches.
