Up for sale, a 1999 Breedlove SC25/R Grand Concert acoustic guitar in excellent condition. Made at Breedlove's factory in Tumalo, Oregon, this uncommon cedar-topped iteration of the SC25/R model features solid rosewood back and sides, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and a deep treble side cutaway for easy access to the highest frets. By combining the lower bout width and waist of a Grand Concert with the depth of a Dreadnought, the SC25/R achieves a unique tonal profile that has cedar's signature smooth, sweet sound.

While this guitar doesn't have a ton of projection, notes have a lovely bloom and the guitar still has some kick in the bass frequencies when you really dig in. A fairly bright strummer, this Breedlove is an ideal fingerpicking guitar that retains articulation and body when played without a pick. Professionally setup and strung with 11-50 strings, this guitar plays effortlessly with low action and accurate intonation.

The mahogany neck has a fairly slender profile which measures. 831 deep at the 1st fret and fills out to. 904 at the 12th fret.

The ebony fretboard features slender fretwire which shows virtually no wear, and the frets have well rounded crowns, playing cleanly in every register. The carved bone nut measures a full 1 3/4 in width and the headstock is fitted with lightweight mini Grover tuning machines. The headstock face also has a stately "B" inlay on the gloss-finished rosewood veneer. On the body, the pin-less ebony bridge sits flush to the top with virtually no deflection behind the bridge, and the compensated saddle has ample height.

A JDL Bridge Doctor is also installed beneath the bridge, which is an. Adjustable spruce "pressure post" which rests against the tail block, providing leverage to ensure a flat soundboard while also increasing the instrument's overall volume. The soundhole rosette is a slender ring of abalone. Cosmetically, this guitar presents very well, with a few small nicks and a finish scratch or two on the body, while there is one small ding on the top edge of the headstock and a single shallow mark on the neck profile roughly behind fret 10 that isn't distracting to the palm. The guitar is crack-free and the original gloss finish is in great shape.
