It has exactly the same body shape as a Lowden'O' and the wood combination is Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce. It has the two-piece bridge saddle, but uses bridge pins instead of the strings-through-bridge system. There was a small, hairline crack in between the bridge and the tailpiece, which I've tried to show in the pictures. This was repaired long before I acquired the guitar and I understand that the repair was carried out by Avalon themselves. There are bound to be a few marks on an older, well-played guitar, but I thought I should mention this one specifically.
The repair has certainly been done very well. Other than that, the guitar is in really excellent condition. The sound is exactly what you'd expect it to be: it's loud and deep, but clear and articulate and every note seems to be beautifully separated.
The guitar comes in its original Hiscox Pro (the sturdier version) case. The price for this is less than half the cost of today's equivalent model (the'Ard Rhi'), so I think it's a very fair price for such an instrument. For obvious reasons, I would prefer this to be collected from Kettering (NN15), but I will post it if absolutely necessary. If it is posted, it will be well-packed and insured and sent with a reliable courier.
