Gibson J-180 EC Special jumbo acoustic guitar. Hand made in Bozeman, Montana, USA in 2006. Solid Maple back and sides.
Rosewood bridge and fret board. This is a very striking and classy guitar.I would describe the tone as warm and mellow. Plugged in it gains a stunning bell-like brightness on top of that. I used to record plugged in it's that good.
Beautiful rich glossy black finish. Neck is straight and the back of the neck is unworn. Original nickel Grover tuners hold tune. Minor fret wear on the lower frets.
Fret board has no wear other than the faintest marks between the 6th and 10th. Hairline crack and small chips in the paint at the base of the neck, as usual with painted guitars. This hasn't changed since it was first tuned. Slight dulling of the paint finish on the top corner under the right forearm, and on the back against the right chest. No pick damage on the top other than some very faint marks that can only be seen at some angles. I play finger style 99% of the time and only ever use the lightest picks.
All this would most likely polish out. I couldn't get the camera to show it up. This guitar has been stored un-played and de-tuned in it's case in my studio for about 9 years. Prior to that it was used occasionally for recording.
This is not a brand new showroom guitar, but it is as close as a used guitar gets. Few marks on this from doing its job. Original genuine Gibson pick guard (never installed). A brand new unopened set of Martin Custom Light 11 / 52 strings (strings in the photos are still ok).
Available by prior arrangement from Katoomba NSW 2780. Otherwise Courier rate of your choice applies. I cannot be held responsible for damage in transit.
