Head D-Jacaranda Made in 1978. A guitar with the brand logo HEAD, which is a super rare guitar that you have never seen before. It seems to be a guitar produced by a long-established Kawase musical instrument in Kanda.

Kawase Musical Instruments has been a favorite professional musician for playing acoustic guitar since the days before the rise of major musical instrument stores. It seems that this head brand was also made for a while. Lucia, who made Master and Billy, is different, but this head is said to have been made by Mr. Hanzo Nakade, who laid the foundation for Japanese classical guitar, seems to have disappeared from this head brand after making only a dozen or so pieces while he was busy. I think the existing head guitar is a super rare item among the super rare items!

Solid spruce TOP, solid hacaranda SIDE BACK, mahogany NECK, ebony fretboard bridge, non-scallop bracing, measured 41.8mm nut, 650mm scale dreadnought body. The neck grip is quite thin and the head is made thin, but the powerful sound is amazing! The sound is a powerful sound of the Showa era! The sound rises sharply, and the low with a thick fundamental tone, the middle with a thick core, and the high that glares rather than glittering are mixed together to create a powerful and dense sound. Even though the neck is so thin, it is a sound that impresses me that it will be such a powerful sound, and if you strumm it with a flat pick, you can enjoy a slightly noisy powerful sound.

The sound is quite bright and has a strong edge, so it may not be suitable for those who like soft sounds, but on the contrary, when you pluck with your fingers, the bright sound is very comfortable and each note is smooth. You can enjoy the transparent and beautifully spreading sound wrapped in glossy overtones! The condition of the instrument has some age-related scratches, usability, and aged feeling, and there are many repair histories. There are multiple crack repairs on the body, and the center joint part of the body top is repaired by adhesive as if it had peeled off once from the sound hole to the bridge and from the bridge to the end. Especially in the cracks under the bridge, the wood is slightly deformed and the center part is mountainous, so it feels quite rough to the touch, but the adhesion itself is solid and the cleats are reinforced from the back.

Is pasted quite a lot, so I think that this state will be maintained in the future. Also, there is a crack on the side of the fingerboard on the 1st string side, but this seems to be firmly stopped by the tumbling on the back. There is a crack repair of about 5 cm on the side of the 1st string, but I think that this is hardly noticeable on the surface.

There are about 4 cracks on the side of the center seam on the back, and the long ones have cracks from almost the top to the bottom, but each is firmly adhered, and reinforcing cleats and plates are stuck from the back, so There seems to be no need to worry about strength. As for the aging feeling, the binding wrapped around the neck is crispy and cracked in various places like a guild or Gretsch.

If you touch it consciously, you will feel unevenness, but there is no particular discomfort when you play it normally. There are other scratches and dents, so it can't be said to be a beautiful vintage, but I think it's a way of getting old like a handmade guitar of this age. The neck condition is good and almost straight, and the current string height is 2.5 mm on the 6th string side and 2.1 mm on the 1st string side on the 12th fret, which is the best setting. There is a little more room in the saddle, so you can adjust the string height a little more. There are no places where the frets are extremely reduced, and even in the places where the frets are reduced the most, the height of about 70% of the original remains.

I was looking for this maker because it was too rare! I don't think there is anyone, but lol, I think it's a reasonable one as a haka veneer! The case is Kawase's original hard case and comes with a case cover with Martin's emblem for some reason. Color Natural wood grain Year of manufacture 1978 Top plate material spruce Side plate material Hakalanda Back plate material Hakaranda Body size dread note type Accessories Hard case.
