The guitar looks very well built, sounds good and is well preserved for its age. The guitar is fully working and fully playable, the action is very very comfortable. There are some minor cosmetical traces of use, but nothing serious: for example. The tuning peg plastic caps are all different from each other. The guitar probably needs an easy setup: like all vintage guitars, to make them sound at their best, a setup by the luthier is recommended change the strings, etc. A great find if you have a passion for these rare 50s gems! Real vintage gem: grab a bargain! These instruments were usually rebranded with Beucher's own label which is the case with this instrument. While many of Beuscher's guitars are easily identifiable as Favinos or Castelluccia's, this one is a little harder to pin down. The design and workmanship don't clearly match that of any of Beuscher's usual suppliers. Generally speaking, this instrument shows the usual characteristics of the "Italian school" of building. Regardless of it's provenance, it's clear this instrument was one of Beuscher's flagship models as it was constructed form some of the finest materials available at that time: even after half a century this guitar still looks stunning. Not surprisingly, this instrument sounds even better than it looks! Perfectly balanced, this guitar produces big, fat sounding chords along with rounded, well defined lead lines that are smooth yet poignant. This instrument has been very well taken care of over it's long life. It plays with very comfortable low action. This instrument is a great choice for both the vintage guitar lover and the practical minded player as it has the character and vintage tone of a mature instrument while having the price and playability of a new guitar. Paul Beuscher was a famous Luthier in Paris and built handmade guitars and violins. In 1850 he founded an Instrument Shop in Paris, which still exists today.
