Northworthy Tideswell hand built acoustic Dreadnaught guitar madeby Alan Marshall, Derbyshire. REVISED DESCRIPTION NOW INCLUDES A BRAND NEW Hiscox case. I started building under my own name in1982 and a few guitars are still out there with the Alan Marshall label. In 1986 I started using the name Northworthy which is the Saxon name for Derby, the county town of Derbyshire, the county where I was born and have lived all my life.

The names given to almost all of my instruments are taken from villages in and close to Derbyshire and the PeakDistrict. Commissions typically took 1-2 years to complete however Alan stopped making guitars in 2018 as he approached retirement age and they rarely come on the market nowadays. This stunning, Northworthy Tideswell was made by Alan Marshall of Northworthy Guitars, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. This is a large bodied Dreadnaught sized guitar similar to a Martin D35. The rough measurements are: Scale length is 25 ¼ inches.

Body ength: 50cm Depth at lower bout: 12cm. Neck width at nut: 44mm It has a wonderful slim profile neck and it is a pleasure to play. As would be expected for a top flight, hand built guitar, it is built from thefinest tone woods: the top is Sitka Spruce, the back and sides are Rosewood. The bridge and neck are Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard. The binding is english Sycamore and the inlays are Abalone. It has Gotoh machine heads. K&K passive transducer in 2014 and does not need a battery.

There are no additional apertures cut in the body since new. The lead plugs into the jack /strap button.

It is controlled at the amplifier. It comes with a brand new Hiscox travel case. The condition is outstanding for an 18 year old guitar with hardly any usemarks other than very minor mainly on the rear of the body but hardly noticeable. The reason for sale is that I have a smaller Northworthy guitar and another Dreadnaught sized guitar.
