The Etowah is a wonderful guitar. Well balanced and wonderfully playable, the real standout features for me are the clear articulation - (every note is as clear as a bell), and the gorgeous ringing harmonics and long sustain. The detailing is also a treat, with some beautiful inlay work, not too overstated on the body, and a great mixture of traditional and modern, typified by the classic headstock, and the carbon fibre fingerboard that transmits every vibration from the strings straight into the tone woods and cedar top. I didn't know you could get such subtleties in the sound until I bought this guitar.
This guitar was made in Shropshire in the early 2000s by Patrick James Eggle and the small team working with him. Eggle is perhaps Britain's leading luthier, and is the designer for Faith's award winning range. Don't think of this as a Faith though...The Etowah is something much more special. Eggle doesn't make acoustics any more, so this beauty will only get rarer. The guitar comes in its own bespoke Hiscox hard case.
