Rare 1937 Tobaccoburst Cromwell G4 Archtop Guitar made by Gibson in Excellent Condition. This guitar screams vintage - it even smells vintage. The wood has aged beautifully and the tone is a real woody 30's tone. This simply cannot be recreated with modern instruments.

Made in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory back when Gibson was making cheaper guitars under sub-brands (Cromwell, Kalamazoo), these guitars have all the playability and quality of a Gibson, but less features - making them cheaper to produce at the time. It plays just as well as any Gibson from that era. It has a nice, crisp feel and medium string tension so you get a ton of tone and clarity. Very comfortable large "baseball bat" v neck so string spacing is generous.

I have played finger style, flat picked and strummed with the guitar and it plays great for that vintage jazzy blues tone. The guitar is in excellent condition for its age with no damage whatsoever. This is a very stylishly-simple 16-wide x-braced archtop. As described Gibson-made brands page this is a G-4 model. That means solid mahogany back, sides, and neck, solid spruce top, and a rosewood fretboard and adjustable bridge.

There were no truss rods in the Cromwell range. It plays beautifully and quick with a medium-big round neck shape with a 1 3/4" nut, lightly radiused board, and a width that runs to 2 1/4" at the neck join. It's also got the usual Gibson 24 3/4 scale. This means you have plenty of room to play on if you're a fingerpicker or single-note lead player but you have a bit faster play vs.

A more-typical (for the period) hard-v neck. The guitar will be in a non-original hard case that seems as old as the guitar itself. The case isn't the best, but I feel it adds to the vintage vibe of the guitar.

So come on - make me an offer I can't refuse!
