Takamine F385 12-String Acoustic Guitar Vintage 1979 Made in Japan

Just like the acoustic guitar used by Don Felder of The Eagles at Criteria Studios in 1976 to record the iconic 12 string intro to the song Hotel California was a Takamine. While he was known to often play his F385, he chose to use his F400S on the recording. The two guitars are nearly identical. In a 2017 interview with Guitar World, Felder explained. We micd the acoustic and put that in the center of the mix.

Then we took the pickups output and ran it though an Echoplex and a Leslie. We micd that in stereo so it has this left-to-right kind of swirling, ethereal characteristic.
