This vintage Yamaha FG-331 was made between 1977 & 1981 and has the beige oval-style label. There are some very minor scuffs and blemishes, and the "Yamaha" name on the headstock is slightly nicked (see photos), but the body of this guitar is amazingly preserved for its age. Low action; no string buzz. It has rich lows, balanced with midrange & beautiful bright highs.
Built very solid; comfortable to play, especially for smaller hands. Specs are: 25" scale, 1 11/16" nut width, 1 7/16" string spacing at the nut, 2" spacing at the bridge, 15" lower bout, 11" upper bout, and 4 1/8 side depth at the endblock. The board has something like a 14 radius and the neck has a medium-depth, Martin-style C/V back shape.
Comes with what I believe to be the original soft shell case with a plush lining. The case is scuffed up and the heel brace needs to be reattached, but it works to protect the guitar during transit. The strings are old and of an unknown make. This guitar is highly regarded for offering great sound, playability and durability for its price-point.
